What is a "citation lift" a lift on? I read one of HubSpot's AEO (answer engine optimization, getting your business named in AI answers) insights out loud: write a LinkedIn post for "an estimated citation lift of 1.6%." Can you imagine? Chris's reaction: "I had no idea what that would do for me, actually, if I got 1.6% based on zero." I said you're almost certainly at zero, respectfully. His better question: "how do we create a valuable campaign that just creates the citation lift?" You take the action you'd want to take, and let AEO follow.
