Last week we talked about the earned date a lot, and it's what I've always endeavored to get CEOs and leadership teams to understand: the way your person puts in ship dates right now will not work. You can't wait until the end of the month. The customer expects to see it, just like they can on Amazon. They've never had self-service access before, so they email you, the person who gets the email asks the shipping department, and now the email is the record. "Our system will update later" is just not okay anymore: if your system is not updating now, there's room for a problem to happen. The case we walk through is the invoice that gets sent early by hand, every time, and then "that human, how many accounts do we have to do that? It's not tenable."
