A date can't be somebody's decision to stamp. It has to be based on the process: if the date is stamped, there's no possible way it happened without the thing being shipped. You cannot have a ship date unless it has shipped, and that's how black and white, "ones and zeros", you have to be on the operational side. HubSpot was built for sales and marketing, for "promises and wishes and goals", we want it to close on this day, and who knows if it will. Back office systems are built the other way: you don't get to go backwards. I think that's why it's so hard to integrate HubSpot with ERPs, and why getting something changed there takes change orders, contracts, and, as I put it, "five approvals".
