What is a CRM for?

Ryan Ginsberg · Thursday, October 8, 2026

I was on a walk, thinking about the most valuable thing to bring to Office Hours. I've been doing a lot of deep research with AI sessions on one question: what is a CRM for? Is there a universal way for everyone to understand its value, and why can't you just vibe code it? The relationship companies have with a CRM is changing now that there's an agentic layer on top, meaning agents working from the CRM's data. I saw a post today from someone on LinkedIn about nine post-sale agents they built. They're all great if your data is trustworthy and the agent can access what it needs, and the whole layer also has to be cost-efficient. The steps and tokens to get an answer you can trust "could cost $10, right? Depending on the model." So I put the question to Chris: how does someone help a customer if they cannot see what they need to see in the moment? Hubsessed Office Hours: Unified Revenue View, October 8.
