In 2023 we were just beginning to create a spreadsheet for all of one customer's projects: 20 different line items, four different shipments over the course of two years, supply chain mixed in. We couldn't fill it out from the ERP data, because the person in charge of supply chain wasn't putting their information anywhere. Vendor communication doesn't go in the CRM, that's where sales is supposed to be, and it doesn't go in the ERP either. That same person owned pricing management with vendors and suppliers. If we're due a battery shipment and the supplier changes the date, that changes the earn date for us, because we literally cannot deliver on what was promised. That's three processes in one, owned by three different people, that make the earn date true or false. Meanwhile, three highly paid people were each spending an hour a week on another call with the client's highly paid person to solve for this lack of communication, and the client finally asked, can we have a spreadsheet or some kind of surface so that not everything is happening on these live calls? I've had to give people permission to put human relationships into HubSpot that are not sales. This doesn't all fit on a deal.
