I haven't worked for multi-billion dollar organizations with venture backing. I've worked in normal businesses, where I had four job titles in one of my startups. They just kept adding the title, and that's how I got my raises. It was never an intentionally designed process that any system was built for. You get thrown into a role and you do everything you can to keep the wheels on the bus. That was fine pre-AI, but now we can curate and design the process we need on top of an infrastructure that's shared across the whole business.
