Earned means we did something for them

We went through the model of the four buckets, and what we're talking about today is the earn spot. For the internal customer (the order manager, customer service, customer success, even accounting), earned means we did something for them. That's what they care about: what did we do for them lately, what's in it for me? We keep solving for the other three because those are revenue. HubSpot has made billable milestones so easy that if you want it broken up into 87,000 payments, we can do that. But most of those payments relate to earned, which isn't touching that system, and is often owned by a completely different team that may not interact with the other team, and probably doesn't interact directly with the customer often.
