Hubsessed Office Hours: Reporting and Dashboards
Start with the 80/20 data set
Joshua Oakes · Wednesday, October 14, 2026
Give people a data set that matches what they care about, and the only thing they can mess up is how they slice it. On enablement: if you can work out what a stakeholder or their division needs from the data, build a data set that lets them play safely in that sandbox. I'd start with an 80/20 of what they care about. Construct the data set, give them a little tour, and tell them to clone a report they already use and start there, with every column labeled the way they'd expect. You protect them from deprecated properties, confusingly named ones, and properties with dependencies. And even when your data is clean, the labels may not make sense to them, so you put it right in their language. Who on your team needs a safer sandbox? October sessions are free; all you need is a free Hubsessed subscription. Replay clip from Hubsessed Office Hours: Reporting and Dashboards. Madelyn Donovan and I hosted.
