Hubsessed Office Hours: Reporting and Dashboards
Seek first to understand
Madelyn Donovan · Wednesday, October 14, 2026
When someone says something hurts, the constructive move is to ask questions and find out why, not to tell them it can't. I keep thinking of a good doctor who cares and believes you, and asks what the circumstances are. On the flip side, patients get frustrated when their doctor isn't listening, and they turn to the internet. The running joke used to be the patient who came in with a Google printout. If people don't feel like they'll be heard, or can trust the source, they turn to another thing, and even if it's less accurate, it feels more accurate to them. Joshua summed it up this way: don't automatically put the blame on them. Seek first to understand, and then find a solution. That's the constructive path. Who around you is waiting to be heard? October sessions are free; all you need is a free Hubsessed subscription. Replay clip from Hubsessed Office Hours: Reporting and Dashboards. Joshua Oakes and I hosted.
