Madelyn had just gotten a client really excited about putting reports on their record views. Then came explaining why they can only do single object reports, and why their favorite report can't be there. The technical answer is that it's connected by association to the record on which it appears. That's too much to explain. I always say the folks we're working with, our stakeholders, our clients, shouldn't have to understand all of the technical nuance. We should be able to clearly present the business explanation of why, in terms they care about. In this scenario that's generally: these are reports about this record, so we find them on this record. These are reports about all of your data, so we find them in a place that flies above all of your data. That's the difference between a card on a record and a dashboard.
