Let HubSpot create the order
Ryan Ginsberg · Friday, October 30, 2026
Most of the people I see are doing orders backwards. They want the orders from the ERP (your finance and operations system) to go into HubSpot, rather than HubSpot creating the order and pushing it to the ERP. If the order already lives in the other system, I think a read-only UI extension is the better answer: open up the deal and fetch the order associated to the deal. You get to see it without the "month long or multi month long process of mapping orders from the ERP into orders on the CRM". We're very much on the side of having the behavior originate from HubSpot and push over, which makes a much cleaner flow and a much simpler data model to resolve. Once the record exists in both places, you are asking whether a stage moves in the other system, and what happens when you made a mistake on the order: do you delete it, go back to the deal, repush it? If you are connecting a CRM to an ERP, you get the questions that decide who owns an order once it exists twice. Which system creates the order at your company?
