Every database needs a starting line

Someone imports a list into your database. Every one of those people has done nothing yet. Where do they go? If we think of lifecycle stages as a race, I have to have a starting line stage. Maybe it's a dumb name. I might actually call it that. But marketing and sales both need to fully understand that when we do an import, enter somebody by hand, or use a data tool to scrape the web, they go into this stage. Then we can be human about our marketing and sales, and get them to the point where they might want to talk to a human, or we know they're a good fit for us to even talk to them.
